CIAA staff complete airfield operations course

DSCN2009 DSCN2080Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (8 July, 2015) More than 35 staff from the Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) participated in two Airfield Operations courses that were held from Monday, 22 June to Friday, 3 July.

Delivered by Airport Solutions Ltd, an international aviation training and consulting company, this is the first time these two courses, Introduction to Airfield Operations and Advanced Airfield Operations have been offered together in the Caribbean.

CIAA’s Chief Operations Officer, Dale Davis said, “This specialized training provided our staff with an excellent opportunity to better understand the fundamentals of airport operations and equip them with the tools to effectively discharge their duties in maintaining airport safety and operational readiness in the Cayman Islands.”

Four staff members representing Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica and Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica also took part in the two week operations training course that was led by Airport Solutions Ltd.’s Operations and Safety Director, Debbie Riley. Mr. Davis added, “We were happy to open this course to our colleagues from Jamaica. Their participation facilitated the exchange of ideas and experiences that will mutually benefit our airports.”
