CCA wants more members and focuses on training

CCAThe Cayman Contractors Association (CCA) has announced a new executive. They also said the executive will be focusing on increasing its membership and industry training for 2013-2014.

The 2013-2014 executive is comprised of Heber Arch (President); Howard Finlason (Vice President); Richard Purdom (Secretary); Dave Johnston (Treasurer); Tommie Bodden, Mike Brown and Dean Scott Directors.

The CCA intends, over the next year, to host training courses along with CASE on the new International Building Code which will replace the existing Building Code in early 2014; to carry out training in Safety and Health and to familiarise its members with the details of the Builder’s Law and Regulations. Seminars will also be held on various other aspects of the Construction Industry.

To encourage new members, regardless of the size of their businesses, to join the Association, the first initiative is to pay for any two of the four seminars offered in November on the International Building Code for the first 10 new members to join the CCA. The seminars will be held at the UCCI and the schedule is:

13 – IBC (2) 6:00-9:00 p.m.

14 – The Residential Code 6:00-9:00 p.m.

16 – MEP 9:00a.m. – 12:00 noon

The Cayman Contractors Association exists to promote excellence in construction, just and ethical business practices, compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as safe and fair working conditions. In addition, the CCA confers with the Government on matters affecting the industry and seeks to elevate the technical, business and legal knowledge of its members while encouraging training at all levels.
