Cayman Yoga teacher Mirabelle Dcunah joins world renowned panel

George Town, Cayman Islands, 1, November 2020 – Local yoga teacher Mirabelle D’Cunha puts Cayman on the map as she joins world renowned panel of experts providing insight and guidance on shifting from chaos to compassion during these difficult times.

2020 has been unmatched in its unapologetic unearthing of all we need to confront and transcend as a species in order to grow. There are profound treasures to pluck out of the complex weave of pandemic, natural disaster and divisive social unrest. The intention of Chaos & Compassion is to tease out some of these treasures and embrace the possibility of transformation they bring.

Hosted by Natalie Backman and Karina Guthrie, the conversation will feature Mirabai Starr, Sally Kempton, Mirabelle D’Cunha, Dr. Kavitha Chinnayan and Dr. Shamini Jain. Before and after the panel are devotional musicians Radha and Ellen Arthur.

Mirabelle D’Cunha has 19 years of study and practice in yoga as a way of life. She studied yoga and yoga philosophy at Mumbai University and is initiated in the Sivananda lineage. She has been teaching for over 11 years at yoga studios, ashrams, and corporate settings in the US, Canada, Bahamas, Bermuda, India, and the Cayman Islands where she lives. She is a published author and founder of the 1st International Bhakti Yoga Summit. Mirabelle supports committed yoga lovers, seekers of joy and compassion experience the awe of their gifts and of life itself. Her signature offerings are Sadhana Club, a bi-monthly online sanctuary that nurtures yoga lovers with authentic yoga knowledge, clarity, and community and a 9-week Breathe into a Radiant You Mentoring program. Working with her, people find purpose, pleasure, and intimacy in life through breath. They will savor the healing and clarity that naturally unfold, as they unplug from urgency and into deep trust and allowing.

Also on the the panel are MIRABAI STARR, an award-winning author WILD MERCY: Living the Fierce & Tender Wisdom of the Women Mystics. Mirabai is on the 2020 Watkins List of the “100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People of the World.” Mirabai teaches and speaks internationally on contemplative practice and inter-spiritual dialog.

Another notable speaker is SALLY KEMPTON author of the best-selling book, Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Yoga Goddesses and Meditation for the Love of It, which Spirituality and Health magazine called “The meditation book your heart wants you to read.” She is a powerful teacher of applied spiritual wisdom, known for her capacity to kindle meditative states in others and to help students work with meditative experience as a framework for practical life-change. She is on the faculty at world renowned yoga retreat centers, Esalen and Kripalu.

Joining them is also, SHAMINI JAIN, PhD, is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Consciousness and Healing Initiative (CHI), a collaborative accelerator of scientists, healers, artists, and educators to help lead humanity to heal themselves. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UC San Diego and has received numerous awards for her published studies in biofield healing practices and meditation. Shamini speaks and teaches in diverse venues including TEDx, universities, conferences, hospitals and retreat centers. Her public writing can be found in online blogs including Huffington Post, Thrive Global and the Times of India. Her first public book, “Healing Ourselves”, will be published with SoundsTrue in 2021.

The last person on the panel, DR. KAVITHA CHINNAIYAN is the author of Shakti Rising (Nonduality Press, October 2017), which won the Nautilus Gold Award for Best Books of 2017, and Glorious Alchemy: Living the Lalitā Sahasranāma (New Sarum Press, January 2020) and The Heart of Wellness (Sfaim Press). She is a Cardiologist and Professor of Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, MI.

The panelists will share their personal perspectives and highlight the compassion of the Divine Feminine to find meaning in, navigate, and evolve from the chaos of 2020.
