Cayman: Pirates’ Week Food Handlers Training

Grand Cayman, October 16, 2023 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is conducting an additional Food Handlers Certification course to accommodate Pirates’ Week food vendors.

Registration is now open for this special Food Hygiene training session scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Government Administration Building (GAB). A registration cost of $15 per person covers all materials and fees should be paid at DEH headquarters, located at 580 North Sound Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

DEH requires all persons who will be involved in the preparation and sale of food at Pirates Week events to be trained and certified in Food Hygiene and Safety. The DEH therefore requests that persons who will be involved in the food preparation activities make use of the opportunity by making arrangements to attend the training. Certification is valid for three (3) years, and persons who want to continue as food handlers must renew their certification once it expires.

Failure to comply with this DEH requirement may result in you not being able to participate in these events.
