Cayman Islands to recognise Civil Service for Long Service Awards

The government is recognising 288 public servants at the 2017 Civil Service Long Service Awards later this month.

To accommodate those receiving awards in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, the awards will take place at Pedro St. James (Friday, 20 January) and at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort (Thursday, 26 January) at 12.30pm, respectively.

Organised by the Office of the Deputy Governor and the Civil Service Association,
the ceremonies will celebrate the loyalty and dedication of those civil servants who reached milestone anniversaries, having worked 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years in government covering the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

“These Civil Servants have shown tremendous dedication to the Government and People of the Cayman Islands. I am very proud of their achievements and very much look forward to attending the awards ceremony,” said Deputy Governor and Head of the Civil Service, Franz Manderson.

Gloria Nixon, Chief Officer for the Portfolio of the Civil Service added that: “The men and women we will celebrate have careers spanning Cayman’s economic booms and recessions; but through it all they have remained steadfast to the noble profession of public service. I commend them for their personal and professional commitment and marvel at the diverse ways these career veterans have contributed to improving the lives of those we serve.”
