Cayman Islands: Saxon Employees of the Year

Kearney Scott and Brandon Glasgow have been named as the 2016 Employees of the Year for their consistently outstanding performance at local insurer, Saxon.
The two were recognized at the company’s annual awards event on December 3, and were each rewarded with a trip for two to any Cayman Airways destination, plus US $1000 spending money.
Saxon’s Employee of the Year award is given to the employee who best achieves the company’s standards for innovation, hard work, dedication, outstanding customer service, willingness to learn and teamwork. Employees are polled monthly to select the Employee of the Month winner and points are accumulated towards the annual award.
Brandon, a Customer Service/Insurance Agent, has been with Saxon for almost two years and has twice received the Employee of the Month award, most recently in November 2016. A part-time student, Brandon is aiming for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
“It’s a great achievement to be Employee of the Year and I have to thank my co-workers who helped to mentor me. They never let me get comfortable, but always push me to be better,” Brandon stated. He also credited his mother’s strong influence in helping him develop as a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking person.
As for his Saxon career, Brandon is simply looking forward to working harder and being even more efficient as part of the team.
In only six months with Saxon, Kearney Scott’s determination and dedication have landed her in top spot in the employee awards. She joined Saxon through the Passport to Success Programme and shortly thereafter was Employee of the Month for July and August 2016.
An Administrative Assistant with Silver Thatch Pensions, Kearney’s performance means she is slated for even more responsibilities in 2017, as she is currently being trained in pension redemptions processing.
Kearney noted that as a single mother of two girls aged four and two, she felt it was important to perform at a level that sets a good example for them. Her goal is to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Administration. She cited her faith in God, determination and motivation for her achievement on the job.
“I’m also grateful for the support of the entire Saxon team,” she stated.
Congratulating both employees, Saxon CEO Brian Williams noted that the company has been happy to support both employees by giving Brandon flexibility with his schedule to ensure he kept up his school attendance, and allowing Kearney use of the company’s resource room, a children-friendly room furnished with books, movies and video games.
“We are so proud that these two young Caymanians have found a place at Saxon to excel and to dream of even bigger things. Both have been positive, enthusiastic, punctual and innovative and represent the best of what we look for in persons just starting out in their careers,” Mr. Williams stated.
