Officers of the George Town Criminal Investigation Department (“CID”) are investigating a robbery that occurred just before 11.30pm on Friday, 23rd October 2015 at the De Kitchen Restaurant in Prospect, George Town.

Just before closing time, three masked men entered the Restaurant and made demands for cash. One of the males was in possession of a small pistol while the other two carried machetes. Two shots were fired during the incident. One outside the building and the other shot was fired inside the kitchen area (where the meals are prepared); however, no one was injured.

An undisclosed amount of cash in US and CI currencies were stolen during the incident; the three suspects ran off in the direction of Mahogany Way after the heist.

The suspect who was in possession of the pistol was described as approximately 5’10” tall with a fair complexion. The other two suspects who brandished the machetes during the heist were described as having light complexion; they were approximately 5’2” tall, one of a slim build and the other one a little fatter. All three spoke with what was described as a Caymanian accent.

Detectives of the George Town CID are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have seen anyone running from the scene or who may have observed a vehicle parked in the vicinity of Mangrove Avenue, Mahogany Avenue or Grape Avenue around 11.25pm to contact the George Town CID at 949-422 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477 (TIPS).
