Cayman Islands: House Fire along Queens Highway, Grand Cayman/Robbery on Crewe Road

Robbery on Crewe Road

About 11:45AM yesterday, Monday 20 July, a woman who had just left the Crewe Road Mini Mart (at the junction with Belmont Close) was approached by a man who demanded money while pointing an object at her that was concealed in white cloth.

The woman had just placed her bag inside her vehicle, which was parked at the side of the mini mart. The man went into the bag and removed five one-dollar bills before running off in the general direction of the Cayman Clinic.

The male was of dark complexion, shirtless and of slim build, and about 5’10” in height. He used a striped green T-shirt to cover his face.

House Fire along Queens Highway

Officers on patrol in the East End observed flames in shrubbery along Queens Highway at about 1:30AM early Tuesday morning, 21 July. Upon investigation they discovered that a house on Sunnyfield Road was aflame. Emergency services and the owner of the house were alerted, and it was confirmed that no one was inside. The incident is currently under investigation by the Fire Service.
