Cayman Islands has a Reading Tree

reading-tree-1The love of reading was brought to life with The Reading Tree, Camana Bay’s popular summer book swap, and now it continues through the month of September with a back-to-school theme.

Time and time again, studies have shown a strong correlation between academic performance and reading for pleasure. To encourage children to read as the new school year approaches, The Reading Tree has been stocked with brand-new books for kids of all ages — and some thought-provoking picks for adults, too!

Nearly 100 books were hand selected from Books & Books’ Summer Blowout sale to stock this book swap in addition to, of course, books supplied by community members bringing their previous reads as they choose their next. The variety of books include children’s storybooks, fiction, and motivational and career-focused books for those older students who may be heading off to university.

The Reading Tree will be open for swapping from Monday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm until the end of September in Cassia Court at Camana Bay. Everyone is invited to come by, take their pick and replace it with one of their books.
