Cayman Islands: Doreen Rose Marie Clemmings laid to rest

clem1Screen Shot 2015-05-03 at 1.41.55 PMOn Sunday April 19th Doreen Rose Marie Clemmings received a fond farewell from over 1,000 of her family and many, many friends at the Cayman Islands George Town New Testament Church of God.

Doreen was a full and active member of the West Bay New Testament Church of God but such was her popularity the Home Going Service for her life had to be moved to the bigger church.

Doreen was born in Jamaica on November 10th 1963 and it was after she came to Cayman she met the love of her life, Carlton Clemmings, and she bore him a beautiful son, Samuel. Her life was sadly plucked away when she died on April 1st at the George Town Hospital suffering from meningitis.

Her death was sudden and but her legacy of love and helping others will live on forever.

These few words taken from the tribute from her husband, Carlton says it all:

“The day that Doreen walked into my life is almost paradise. I was knocking on heaven’s door. Your beauty and your eyes caught my attention as a dazzling deva.

“Just when we were set for me to lavish you with my love and you lavish me with yours, you suddenly became ill and the Lord took you from me.. Why? Is it because you have so much love and heaven needs it more than I do? You were on a freelance permit for souls for the Kingdom of God, to see people healed, delivered and set free. There are no buildings, books, journals, letters etc. that could say it better than the way you lived your life. Your life was pure, not made up, not counterfeit or fake you are a real and genuine person.”

The officiating ministers were Bishop Loxley Mitchell and Bishop Clovis Wilks.

Internment took place at the West Bay Cemetery.

Hymns included “I’ve Found a Friend in Jesus” and Some Glad Morning”.
