Battle of the Books is an annual children’s reading competition organised by Cayman Islands Information Professionals, which is a library association promoting literacy, and advocating for libraries.

This year’s event was held at Sir John A. Cumber Primary School in West Bay on Saturday, 7 May.

“Battle of the Books was excellent this year and all participants were very impressive,” said Paul Robinson, one of the competition’s organisers. “We must give a special mention to Cayman International School Puss in Boots in the junior division. They scored a total of 344 points – only two points less than our joint junior champions.”
