RE: NCVO’S APPEAL TO FUND CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMES

Dear Friend and Supporter,

Every year, thanks to community donations, the NCVO helps children and families through programmes dedicated to their care, education and well–being.

In fact, hundreds of children in the Cayman Islands need your support daily. They need security, care and protection in our foster home. They need subsidised preschool education and daycare at our preschool and nursery and they need school lunches to prevent them from going hungry.

With your help, the NCVO’s programmes can lessen these problems by directly benefitting these vulnerable children.

Over the past ten years, the Nadine Andreas Foster Home has housed over 45 children in need of care and protection who were placed with us due to abuse or neglect. Other NCVO programmes include Miss Nadine’s Pre- school and the Jack and Jill Nursery which provide subsidised preschool and daycare (including free spaces and means tested fees) and the Caring Cousins Lunch Support Programme. For more information about these and our other programmes, please log on to our website at www.ncvo.org.ky.

Our main fundraiser—the Annual Radio/Telethon is set for Saturday 21st October at the Prospect Playhouse beginning at 7:00 p.m. This popular event is aired live simultaneously on Cayman 27 and Radio Cayman and features many of our islands’ most talented musicians and performers. As mentioned, the organisation relies heavily on this event as its main source of donations and our goal this year is to raise CI$140,000 to ensure that NCVO programmes remain in operation.

The NCVO is dependent upon the generosity of the business community and individuals. We urge you to assist us in maintaining our programmes and addressing the increasing needs throughout the community.

Donations by mail will be gratefully accepted prior to the date of the Radio/Telethon to the NCVO, P. O. Box 1140, Grand Cayman, KY1-1102.

Donations can also be made by going onto our website: www.ncvo.org.ky and clicking the DONATE NOW button (please reference the radio/telethon) or by contacting Janice Wilson at the NCVO’s office at 949-2124 or via the email address [email protected].

Once your donation has been received it will be recorded and announced on the evening of the event.
We ask that you specify if you wish to present your donation at the live event or if you would like to remain anonymous.

We hope you consider this request favourably and as always encourage you to forward this appeal to friends, family and colleagues. Your donation can make a significant difference to the lives of many, so please help us to help those who need it most.

Yours sincerely,
Garry Wilkins, NCVO Chairman Janice Wilson, NCVO Chief Executive Officer
