Cayman in Olympic Concerts

The Cayman Islands was represented loud and clear at two music concerts  held in London on Saturday, 21 July as part of the lead up to the opening of the Summer Olympics on Friday, 27 July.

Caymanian Adishree Mani participated in Soul Caribbean, the opening segment at a concert that took place at the Tower of London featuring the Americas and another at Trafalgar Square. These were two of five BT River of Music concerts held this weekend.

The concerts form part of the London 2012 Festival, which is currently taking place across the UK ahead of the Olympic Games. Running until 9 September 2012, the Festival features a wide variety of art forms, bringing together more than 25,000 leading artists and performers from the UK and across the world, according to the BT River of Music official site.

Dubbed a “spectacular global summit of rhythm and song”, the two-day free event will act as a curtain-raiser for the sporting celebrations to follow and will feature artists representing all Olympic and Paralympic nations, from the largest nations to the tiniest ocean island speck, according to the website.
