Cayman Finance promotes career opportunities in financial services sector

Richard ColesCayman Finance, the private-sector membership-based organization dedicated to promote the development of the Cayman Islands Financial Services Industry through innovation, education and integration, is proud to be a Major Sponsor the 2013 Chamber of Commerce’s Careers, Education, Training, and Jobs Expo.  Now in its 15th year, the Expo takes place on February 8, 2013 at the University College of the Cayman Islands.

“It’s important for visitors to learn more about our industry and that many of Cayman Finance’s member organizations offer non-accounting based roles such as marketing, human resources and IT, as well as the more traditional legal and accountancy positions,” says Richard Coles, Chair of Cayman Finance.  “We understand the importance of ensuring students get the face-to-face time needed to prepare for job searching, future interviews, and employment readiness.  If our support of this event can help even one person make a meaningful decision regarding a career choice or move, then our participation in the Expo will be all that more meaningful.”

As at the 2012 event, the Cayman Finance booth will again be an interactive experience, presenting facts on and career opportunities in the Cayman financial services industry.  Visitors to the booth will have a chance to win an iPad mini by completing a trivia quiz, based on what they have learned.

“We are pleased to welcome Cayman Finance as a major sponsor of the Chamber’s Careers, Education, Training and Jobs Expo again this year”, remarked Wil Pineau, CCE, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.  “Workforce development initiatives are a priority for the Chamber of Commerce and the Develop Talent driver group for the Future of Cayman economic development initiative. There is alignment between our organisation and Cayman Finance in our commitment to help our members to attract the best local talent into their organisations.”

The Expo will take place in the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall at UCCI from 8 am to 7 pm on Friday, February 8, 2013.
