Grand Cayman, November 9, 2023 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises the public of the early closure of the George Town Landfill on Remembrance Day, Monday, November 13, 2023.

The George Town Landfill will close at 1:00 pm on this public holiday and there will not be reception of derelict vehicles or scrap metals on this date. Operations will resume on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Meanwhile, hours of operation will remain as usual at both landfills in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop off site at the entrance of the George Town Landfill will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small quantities of household waste, if necessary. 

Regular garbage collection and recycling operations will be as normal throughout the Cayman Islands.
