Cayman: Commonwealth Day Flag Raising Ceremony at GAB on Monday (11 Mar)

The Cayman Islands Government will commemorate Commonwealth Day on Monday, 11 March with a flag raising ceremony at the Government Administration Building (GAB) on Elgin Avenue, starting 9:45 a.m.

Commonwealth Day 2024 is being observed under the theme, ‘One Resilient Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’, and forms part of a week-long series of global events to mark the day. This year’s theme is significant as it encourages the 56 Commonwealth member countries to harness their strengths and combine efforts to create a resilient future.

Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen, Premier Honourable Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, Deputy Governor, Honourable Franz Manderson, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, the uniformed services and members of the civil and public service are expected to attend the event.

Commonwealth Day is a yearly celebration embraced by people all over the Commonwealth in the Caribbean and Americas, Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Europe.
