An unmatched programme is being planned, offering CTO member countries and private sector partners unrivalled opportunities to marry and showcase all the appealing and attractive features of the Caribbean in one celebratory event.

To create awareness of the Caribbean’s diverse product offerings and showcase the Region’s desirability through consumer engagement and authentic cultural experiences;
To offer opportunities for Caribbean government officials, private sector executives and industry partners to sell their destinations, and build relationships for year round business development;

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. May 31, 2016: The 11th Caribbean American Heritage Month across the U.S. begins officially t, June 1st but the Caribbean is already in the spotlight with the May 29th launch of another Caribbean Week in New York.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO)’s Caribbean Week in New York got underway officially on Sunday with a church service at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church on Hawthorne Street in Brooklyn.

Caribbean Week, a celebration of the sights and sounds and unique vacation experiences and business offerings that the Caribbean region offers, continues with four public events this week.

Caribbean celebrity chefs from Anguilla, the Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada and Jamaica will host cooking demonstrations at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street store in NYC as well as at Williams-Sonoma t Columbus Circle and Bloomingdale’s White Plains at various times during this week.

The spotlight will be on the youth on Wednesday June 1st, as the annual Caribbean student colloquium, “Students Taking Center Stage: A Forum for Rising Stars in Caribbean Tourism,” takes place at the New York Marriott Marquis, Marquis Ballroom B, from 6 to 8 p.m., with students from Caribbean colleges and universities competing. The rums of the region will be in the spotlight on Friday 3rd with the Rum & Rhythm Benefit and Auction: The Ultimate Caribbean Epicurean Experience at Capitale, 130 Bowery, from 6:30 to 11 p.m.

The week’s pubic event wraps up with the Caribbean Rocks Concert by Tempo Networks on Sunday June 5th at B.B. King Blues Club, 237 W. 42nd Street in NYC from 7 p.m. Performers will include Romain Virgo, R.
