Caribbean leaders arrive in Santiago de Cuba for July 26 Commemoration

SANTIAGO, Cuba, July 25 (acn) Prime ministers of three Caribbean countries arrived Thursday afternoon in this eastern city to participate at the national ceremony for July 26 commemorations of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrison in 1953.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Winston Baldwin Spencer; Saint Lucia’s Kenny Davis Anthony and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ Ralph Gonsalves were welcomed in Santiago by Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez and first Communist Party secretary in the province Lazaro Exposito.

Upon his arrival here, Baldwin Spencer expressed his satisfaction to participate in the national ceremony on Friday and Saint Lucia’s Kenny Davis said that the Cuban Revolution will always have a special place in the hearts of Caribbean peoples because Cuba has helped change life in all parts of the world.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’’ Ralph Gonsalves praised Cuban collaboration programs with his country in the sectors of healthcare, education and construction; he said he was happy to be in Cuba to take part of the national commemorations.
