Cabinet of the Cayman Islands – Post Meeting Summary

His Excellency the Governor Mr. Martyn Roper, OBE, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Tuesday, 22nd February 2022 in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.

All Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present with Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon appointed as Hon Acting Deputy Governor.

At this meeting Cabinet:

  • approved the issuance of a coastal works permit for Block 24B Parcel 33, Prospect, Grand Cayman;
  • approved the making of Protected Area Orders under Section 7 of the National Conservation Act for Sand Cay, Block 15E, Parcel 110, Grand Cayman, Western Mangroves Areas, Grand Cayman, Central Mangrove Wetland, Block 30A, Parcel 1, Grand Cayman, Tarpon Lake (revised), Block 88A, Parcel 30, and Block 83A, Parcel 33 – Little Cayman and East Interior, Block 91A, Parcel 48, Little Cayman;
  • approved the issuance of drafting instructions for the waiver of prescribed fees for the issue of a tourist vessel licence for the Wildlife Interaction Zone under Part 7 of the National Conservation Council (Licence and Permit) Directive (2022 Revision);
  • approved the Wellesley Howell commemorative stamp issue as a part of the 2022 stamp programme;
  • approved the lease of a boardroom in George Town Financial Centre for Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman;
  • approved a non-binding open public tender exercise for Block 13B Parcels 103 H6 and H16 and an appropriation increase of US$29,158 in accordance with Section 11 (5) of the Public Management and Finance Act;
  • approved the applications for appointment as Notary Public for the following persons: Danielle Ballantyne; Laurie Conolly; Collen Cummings; Valdreen Lindo; Priscilla Lopez; and Patrice Myles; and
  • Noted the Financial Report for the period 1st January 2022 to 31st January 2022.
