Both parties promise a lot

With approximately 500 persons attending the People’s Progressive Party (PPM) – “The Progressives” General Assembly and around 300 persons at the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) one, it only needed HBO’s Boxing Announcer, Michael Buffer, to shout “Let’s get ready to rumble!”

The promises from both camps came thick and fast with PPM leader, Alden McLaughlin, coming from the red corner and UDP leader, McKeeva Bush coming from the blue corner with corner cut man, Walling Whittaker in attendance.IMG_0699IMG_0569

The PPM had local entertainment from Daphne Orrett & Co plus country star, Jimmy Wayne. It reminded me of a good ole redneck affair.

McLaughlin spoke about ex-premier McKeeva Bush’s tarnished record and the e international news headlines blazing his arrest and charge for theft and corruption offences.

“If you were a credible investor, is this the place you would feel that your money is safe?” He asked.

Bush spoke about the recent split between himself and five members of his party., and he mentioned a few times the wIMG_0567ord “loyalty”. He said people were telling people in West Bay “Don’t vote for cut throats.”
