Miami, FL – September 4, 2014 – It’s back-to-back Bill this month on HBO, when Emmy® nominated comedian/host/author Bill Maher returns from hiatus and resumes season 12 of his long-time show with a special edition of Real Time With Bill Maher at 21:00 hrs.*, immediately followed by his 10th solo stand-up comedy special for the network with Bill Maher: Live from D.C. at 22:00 hrs. Both specials will air live from Washington, D.C., on Friday, September 12 in the Caribbean, simultaneously with the United States.

In an unprecedented move, Maher descends upon Washington, D.C. for two live shows, presented back-to-back and without a break. This time, he takes his Emmy® nominated series Real Time with Bill Maher on the road, hosting a new edition to air live from Sidney Harman Hall, in which he will reveal the “winning loser” of his season-long “Flip a District” segment, which invites viewers to nominate their current elected representative to be voted out of office. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is the top-of-show interview guest, and comedian Jerry Seinfeld is the mid-show interview guest. The roundtable discussion features former Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and journalist Andrea Mitchell.

Immediately following the conclusion of Real Time, Maher will proceed to the Warner Theatre, where another, entirely different audience will welcome him onstage for an all-new, one-hour stand-up comedy special, Bill Maher: Live from D.C., his tenth solo special for the network since his HBO debut in 1989. Among the topics that Maher plans to cover: the midterm elections, income inequality, the Republican psyche, a Trump lawsuit, why the Pope is an atheist, and why tattoos are stupid.

One of the most politically astute comedians in America today, Maher’s unflinching honesty and commitment to never pulling a punch have garnered him the respect and admiration of millions of fans, not only for his acclaimed weekly HBO series, but for the many stand-up specials the indefatigable comedian also performs around the country each year. Real Time with Bill Maher has been renewed for a 13th season of 35 editions, to begin in January 2015.

The executive producers of the show are Bill Maher, Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Marc Gurvitz, Brad Grey and Billy Martin; produced by Dean E. Johnsen; directed by Paul G. Casey. The executive producers of the comedy special are Bill Maher and Marc Gurvitz; director is Troy Miller.

Miami, FL – September 3, 2014 – HBO presents A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY, a documentary that explores life in one of the most demanding and innovative fire departments in the world. Featuring first-hand accounts of veteran firefighters, including former FDNY member and acclaimed actor Steve Buscemi, the film reveals what it feels like to fight, and know, fire in New York and premieres exclusively on HBO on Monday, September 8th in the Caribbean, simultaneously with the United States.

Spotlighting the immense mental and physical toll of firefighting, as well as the community born out of sharing an incredible responsibility, A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY goes inside the New York City Fire Department to illuminate the lives of heroes who put themselves at risk to serve the city. Through behind-the-scenes footage and interviews conducted by Buscemi, the film tells stories of the men and women of the FDNY while drawing on candid photos and rare video from the last five decades to revisit department milestones, including: the “War Years” of the ‘60s and ‘70s; the 1966 23rd Street fire, in which 12 firefighters died; the Happy Land Social Club fire of 1990 (87 victims); and 9/11 and its lasting impact on the FDNY.

This one-hour documentary is ultimately about camaraderie and the bonds formed around firehouse kitchen tables, the cumulative effect of trauma, both physical and mental, and the stories – the good, the bad and the exciting. It takes a genuine, raw and emotional look at the sacrifices firefighters make, the challenges they face, and reveals why the FDNY family truly lasts forever.

Steve Buscemi worked as a firefighter at Engine Co. 55 in New York City from 1980 to 1984, before pursuing an acting career. In addition to starring in such movies as “Reservoir Dogs,” “Fargo,” “The Big Lebowski” and “Ghost World,” he has directed four feature films and numerous TV shows, including “The Sopranos,” receiving an Emmy® nomination for the episode titled “Pine Barrens.” He currently stars in the lead role of Nucky Thompson on the HBO original series, “Boardwalk Empire,” for which he won a Best Actor Golden Globe Award.

A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY is directed and produced by the two-time Oscar®-nominated Liz Garbus; also produced by Wren Arthur and Steve Buscemi; co-produced by Mridu Chandra; line produced by Julie Gaither and associate produced by Adrienne Collatos; with Karen Sim as editor; Maryse Alberti as cinematographer; and original music by Philip Sheppard. For Olive Productions, Stanley Tucci served as executive producer. For HBO, Lisa Heller served as supervising producer, with Sheila Nevins as executive producer.
