Art @ Governor’s 2013 call for artists

The National Gallery is calling on all artists and crafts persons wishing to participate in Art@Governors and have issued the following message:

Dear Artist,

The National Gallery is busy getting ready for Cayman’s premier visual arts event – Art@Governors – and we hope that you, the artists, will come out and join us on Saturday4th February, 2013 to celebrate our vibrant cultural scene. His Excellency, Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor and family will be hosting the event again this year and together we extend this invitation to all artists and crafts persons wishing to participate.

Once again, Art@Governors will be spread across two venues in order to facilitate the sales of art by artists choosing to locate themselves on the Governor’s Square location. Those choosing to remain inside the Governor’s garden will still benefit greatly from the invaluable exposure to the 3,000 visitors who attend each year. Please note which venue you wish to be situated in clearly in your application form.

There is a standard participation fee of $35.00 for those wishing to sell works (such fees are required at most arts festivals), this is addition to the equipment rental costs.  This ensures that we are able to continue to host the event annually and we thank you in advance for your support.

Due to the limited capacity, lunches at the Governors House is limited to 60 people, and is extended only to participating artists located on the Governor’s House lawn. However, we are delighted to be working with Rotary Sunrise once again to extend a lunch to all other artists, ensuring that everyone involved in this event has a welcome break. Lunch will be delivered to your booths between 11:00am and 12:00pm.

We invite you to begin setting up your booths at 8:00am. Set up must be completed before 11:00am (no late persons will be admitted after this time**), gates will open at 12:30pm, and the festival will close at 4:00pm. Once again, we ask that you respect the festival’s coordinators by not packing up any work until after 4:00pm.

Please read through the attached form carefully and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.

We look forward to seeing you at Art@Governors 2013!
