The 3rd Annual APPLEBY International Mens’ Day Football Tournament takes places on 16th November 2013 (check-in at 8:30am) at Camana Bay Sports Complex. This event takes places as part of Cayman’s annual celebration of International Men’s Day (IMD).

Registration: Register by 15th November. Minimum age 8 years old. Online Each team will consist of 5 boys and 5 adults to form one team of 10 players. You can enter as a group or individually and be matched up.

Last Year: The 2nd Annual International Men’s Day Football Tournament was held on November 17th 2012 at Camana Bay Sports Complex. Davenport Development were 1-0 winners against Rotary Club of Grand Cayman in the adult teams final, and Rotary Junior were 3-0 winners against ESRF Junior in the junior teams final.

Overall 115 players took part forming 7 adult teams consisting of Hydes & Sons 1, Hydes & Sons 2, Island Taste, Estella Scott Roberts Foundation, Saxon MG, Rotary Club of Grand Cayman and 4 junior teams ESRF Jr, Rotary Jr, Island Taste Jr and Hydes & Sons Jr. The teams were named after their sponsors but the teams were mixed with Rotarians, ICCI Students, Triple C students, Artists, and players from various leagues. It was great to have everyone out having a great time.

At the end the adult final came down to Davenport Development (mostly Triple C students) and Rotary Club of Grand Cayman (mostly Rotarians). It went into overtime with 2, 3 minute halves each, in the end Davenport won (1-0), as the rain poured.

The junior teams primarily composed PFL players, Hair Brained Bunch and Triple C. They were really skilled players and showed amazing sportsmanship. Rotary Jr went up against ESRF Jr and won it (3-0). The grand prize $1000 (sponsored by KRyS Global) will go help fund PFL’s trip next year and Triple C will use it toward their uniforms.
