Ann Coulter: My beef with Delta isn’t over $30

By Sandy Fitzgerald From Newsmax

Ann Coulter Tuesday continued her war of words with Delta Air Lines, complaining on Fox News that she has not gotten an explanation or an apology for being moved from one seat to another during a flight from New York to Florida over the weekend.

“It’s been three days now and Delta hasn’t given an explanation, much less an apology, and moreover, they are snarky and being very snippy on Twitter,” the columnist told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

Coulter began slamming Delta Air Lines Saturday, after her flight was over, saying the airline gave away the “extra room seat” she’d reserved and paid an extra $30 for. According to the airline, Coulter initially booked a window seat, but then changed her reservation to one for an aisle seat.

She became angry when the plane’s flight crew moved her to a window seat to accommodate a family that wanted seats together on the flight.

Over the course of the next few days, Coulter has posted dozens of tweets attacking the airline. She also took and showed pictures of the person who got her seat, calling her a “dachshund-legged woman” in one of her many tweets to Delta.

Delta eventually tweeted that it had refunded Coulter’s $30, and chastised her, in an unusual move for a business, telling her that her “insults about our other customers and employees are unacceptable and unnecessary.”

Coulter said Tuesday she waited to tweet because there was no Wi-Fi on the plane, and accused Delta of “lying so much about this.”

The airline’s offer to refund the $30 also is not sufficient, Coulter said.

“It’s not about the $30,” she said. “You gave me a more cramped seat. Apparently, Delta isn’t familiar with its aircraft. As a frequent flier, I am, and on the right side of aisle 15, you have a lot more leg room. It’s a good seat. There’s a reason I went on and at Delta’s invitation picked this particular seat.”

However, she continued, the flight attendants would not explain to her why she was moved, and that she would have been happy to move for an older person or an air marshal.

“Very clearly, that wasn’t this case,” said Coulter. “That’s why I took a picture of the passenger because I knew Delta would lie about it, and of the stewardess because I knew they would say ‘we have no idea what you’re talking about.’ They’ve been unbelievably arrogant.”

She admitted her problem isn’t the “worst thing in the world,” but called on Delta employees to “simply be polite and give the passengers the seat they want . . . I admit I did insult the airline, but I insulted them really by describing what they did.”
