Wind chimes

Our revered publisher, Mrs. Joan Wilson, loves wind chimes. She has them everywhere at her home both inside and out. When the breezes and winds blow beautiful music plays around her home.

Wind chimes are constructed from suspended tubes, rods, bells or other objects and are often made of metal or wood. Joan has all of those hanging up. In ancient Rome they were made of bronze and called tintinnabulum. Bells were believed to keep off evil spirits and so they were often combined with the phallus, which was also a symbol of good fortune and a charm against evil. Hmm. I didn’t see any of that type hanging on your trees, Miss Joan!

However, you don’t often think of wind chimes as being very personal and examining the ones Miss Joan has they don’t carry any personal messages (or other ‘things’). Many people do not know you can actually have a caring message engraved on wind chimes. When this is done they can even become a very meaningful wedding, Christmas, anniversary or birthday gift! You can have a short personal message engraved on the wind chime to express anything you like, especially to your love one. It’s like having your card and gift wrapped in one neat package!

Personalized wind chimes can be a keepsake for many years to come. They make a wonderful gift any time of the year.
