Walking Shadow – a revenge thriller-drama short film

(17.35 mins)

Martin is an ageing actor. He has known some fame, has good work behind him, but life has moved on and he has been forgotten, his age plays against him when jobs do appear, living with rejection becomes habitual. His considerable talent and experience is not wanted, not least because it undermines the confidence of the younger brasher talents out there forging their own careers, taking the world by storm, developing their own new cultural identity.

Martin stumbles upon an opportunity, an unexpected situation where at least an introductory audition is due to him, a minimal courtesy. Young, feisty theatre director, Olivia, finds herself unexpectedly in danger. For an older actor, who may be going over the edge, pushed by too much rejection, this is an opportunity that cannot be denied him. When it is denied him, when someone rejects him without acceptable reason, it pushes him too far. Olivia is quite right to fear for her safety. Even the elderly can fight back!

An exciting Revenge Thriller with an underlying theme concerning the value of age and experience – a tragic drama about a lifetime being casually rejected.
