The Nations most likely to win The Euros following The Group Stage

’s fair to say that Euro 2020 is slightly up in the air as to who could actually win. There are a number of contenders, a number of nations doing surprisingly well, some disappointing, but one thing is for sure, it’s still anyone’s tournament.

Taking an online casino analogy, you could spin a roulette wheel and land any one of a number of sides and be confident that they have a chance. It’s not red or black, but red, black, white, green, we could go on. So, as we leave the Group Stage, who are the teams we’re hedging our bets on?

Italy

Only a handful of pundits were banking on Italy being one of the major players in this tournament, despite a quite staggering run of form coming into it. They’ve been dealt the perfect hand in Roberto Mancini coming in as a manager and he’s transformed their team into a solid, but exciting team.

At present, Mancini could take a spin on the pokies at any online casino Australia, New Zealand, the USA or anywhere in the world has to offer and it’d likely turn to gold. In Ciro Immobile he’s hit the jackpot and he’ll be the dangerman to watch as we move into the latter stages.

France

France were favourites to win the tournament prior to it starting and the bookies are still backing them. A mixed Group Stage, drawing to Hungary, has put a few question marks over them, and you never quite know what’s going to happen in terms of squad harmony with them.

However, with the likes of Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, and of course Kylian Mbappe, on their day they can beat anyone in the world, just as they did three years ago in Russia

Germany

Part of the Group of Death with France and Portugal, the Germans looked a shadow of their former selves in their opener to the French, but fought back superbly against Portugal, showing exactly why Joachim Low’s men are always contenders.

They ran rings around a strong Portuguese side, and sent a message to the entire competition that they’re a team to avoid in the Knockout Stages.

Belgium

Many pundits had written off Belgium, but they came through the Group Stage with maximum points and a bang in form Romelu Lukaku. Kevin De Bruyne is back in the action, and there’s plenty more quality around the squad.

One question mark is over an ageing defence, which could face problems when they meet better quality opposition further down the line.
