The Cayman Islands Financial Services Institute (FSI) is pleased to announce a comprehensive training seminar on the Cayman Islands Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Guidance Notes, scheduled to take place on April 18th, 2024, at the Compass Loft.

The half-day seminar, running from 9am to noon, will feature prominent industry expert Justine Plenkiewicz, co-founder of Claritas, as the main speaker. With years of experience in AML compliance, Plenkiewicz will provide invaluable insights into key topics including the risk-based approach, internal controls, client due diligence, and recent updates to the Guidance Notes.

The seminar is tailored for CEOs, compliance officers, and directors from the Cayman Islands financial services industry, offering them a unique opportunity to be brought up to date on one of the most important documents in the country’s AML regime.

“We are excited to offer this training seminar in collaboration with Claritas,” said Paul Byles, Director of the FSI. “In today’s rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, staying abreast of AML guidance is essential for financial institutions to maintain compliance and uphold the integrity of the Cayman Islands’ financial services sector.”

“I am honoured to be part of this seminar and look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with industry professionals,” said Plenkiewicz.  “By focusing on key areas such as the risk-based approach and client due diligence, we aim to equip attendees with the tools they need to navigate regulatory challenges effectively.”

The seminar promises to be a valuable learning opportunity for industry professionals seeking to enhance their AML compliance practices and contribute to a robust and resilient financial services sector in the Cayman Islands.
