The Editor Speaks: Oh dear. Just as I was going to commend McKeeva

Colin Wilson2web

THIS EDITORIAL HAS BEEN AMENDED UPON ADVICE FROM LEGAL AND REQUEST FROM PREMIER’S LAWYERS

I was just about to write an Editorial saying how I have been impressed by McKeeva Bush’s performance as leader of the Opposition. In fact, if it hadn’t been for the power outage yesterday it would have been written and published.

I do believe God intervened just in time.

McLaughlin’s comment that he believes Bush has taken leave of his senses is an accurate one.

Please see our Front Page story today “Cayman Islands opposition leader calls for public enquiry into his arrest and trial”.

Bush’s filing of a Private Members Motion entitled “Unconstitutional Interference, Conspiracy To Topple An Elected Government And Violation Of Indigenous Population’s Rights….” is very unlikely, in my humble, opinion to be debated.

Speaker of the House Julianna O’Connor-Connolly has to decide if the motion is acceptable and McLaughlin has also raised the question of “significant constitutional issues, based on his broad understanding of the content, because of the allegations made against the UK government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office officials.” –SOURCE CNS.

Whilst Bush might have some grounds to be very ticked off by the involvement of previous Cayman Islands Governor Duncan Taylor that came out in Bush’s trial, even there it can hardly have resulted in his losing the 2013 election as he is implying. He did a perfect job of that himself without any part from the last governor, the FCO, law enforcement agencies, other unnamed persons, ********

With all the terrible insults that Bush threw at Taylor he was lucky the ex governor was so restrained.

I have to confess I did laugh out loud when Bush claimed “the election observers who came here for the first time in 2013 had come to watch him!!”

Wow. He really does think he is so important.

It did not surprise me for a minute he was found ‘Not Guilty’ at his trial on all counts but he conveniently, or perhaps he doesn’t think it matters, it confirmed he is a compulsive gambler and misled the people of the country he claims he puts first and is their servant. When I use the word ‘misled’ I am being very kind.

Why no one has made more of this is a mystery but now he is taking pot shots at ****** he might receive a cannon ball in reply.

If Bush does succeed in getting his Motion debated he can say and slander anyone he likes as he has Parliamentary privilege. If he doesn’t get it he will have to be very careful indeed.

Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

And to think I was about to commend him …… What was I thinking?
