St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister sheds light on global insecurity

unnamedOver 150 guests representing a wide cross-section of the Cayman diaspora gathered at the University College of the Cayman Islands to attend the institution’s latest Distinguished Lecture which featured Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

“The Honorable Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves is not only an accomplished head of state, but he is also an intellectual with a PhD in government from the University of Manchester. As such, his talk not only wove a fascinating overview of how our world is evolving in dangerous ways, but also offered insights and solutions for combatting the challenges we face as a region and as part of the global community,” said Dr. JD Mosley-Matchett, acting President of UCCI.

Among the issues discussed by Prime Minister Gonsalves were terrorism, climate change, crime, migration, and use and misuse of technology. He underscored the importance of cooperation across boundaries in order to overcome global insecurity.

The Distinguished Lecture will be aired by CIGTV and posted on YouTube at a later date. Please log on to UCCI’s website: http://www.ucci.edu.ky and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OfficialUCCI/?fref=t for updates.
