By Tim Chesteruk From Mashable

LONDON — Astronaut Tim Peake’s photography is coming on in leaps and bounds. Within days of his epic Aurora Borealis snaps, the British astronaut has posted some mesmerising photos of London, England and France from hundreds of miles high.

Peake took a phenomenal shot of England and France on Thursday (on a Nikon D4 with a shutter speed of 0.6 seconds and an F stop of 1.4, photography fans) and uploaded it to his Flickr account.

“Looking to the East along the Channel with UK on the left and France on the right,” he wrote in the caption. “The streetlights from the densely populated London, Paris and Brussels glow brightly in the centre of the picture.”

He then zoomed into London at midnight on Saturday for a closer view, saying “I’d rather be up here… but only just.”

Regent Street, Oxford Street and Tower Bridge show up particularly brightly in the image, as do parts of Canary Wharf, while London’s huge parks lie dark and dormant in the night.
