| Forced Labour Human rights organizations call for Bachelet’s resignation after China visit After her visit to Xinjiang last week, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet is facing criticism from rights organizations and activists. They argue that she failed to use the opportunity to hold China accountable for the systematic forced labor and genocide of Muslim groups in the region, including the Uyghur people. | Human trafficking Enslavement, torture and abuse in Libyan detention facilities, says UN A new UN report has reiterated that migrants in Libya are being systematically enslaved, tortured and sexually abused. These horrific human rights abuses are taking place in both state-run and unofficial detention centers, with girls as young as 14 and 15 reporting being repeatedly raped.
