Registration now open for the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship BF&M Volunteer Program

Over 600 volunteers sought for Bermuda’s PGA TOUR event

Southampton, Bermuda (July 10th, 2023) — The Butterfield Bermuda Championship’s BF&M Volunteer Programme for adults and juniors is now accepting online applications. The tournament returns for its fifth year from November 6th to November 12th at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton.

Over 600 volunteers will be required to fill positions on 16 committees, ranging from gallery management ambassadors, walking scorers, and TV spotters, to merchandise, pro-am and product distribution. A full list of committees can be viewed on the tournament website and interested volunteers should visit https://trusteventsolutions.com/event/66/home to apply. Early submission is encouraged, particularly for any specified preferences.

Abigail Clifford, Group President and CEO of BF&M shared “Over the past five years, BF&M has had the privilege of sponsoring the Butterfield Bermuda Championship’s Volunteer Programme. This prestigious event has achieved remarkable success, thanks to the unwavering commitment and hard work of our volunteers who devote themselves tirelessly every day to create an unforgettable experience. We look forward to seeing you on the course, for what is sure to be another exceptional event.”

The BF&M Volunteer Programme is open to anyone 18 years of age and older. Golf knowledge isn’t required and the tournament has a variety of opportunities for both golfers and non-golfers alike.

Young people aged 13–17 also have the opportunity to volunteer as a Standard Bearer, an exciting role of walking inside-the-ropes with a player group while carrying a two-sided scoring standard. This role is available on the Saturday and Sunday of tournament week. It is a popular choice and positions fill up quickly.

“We have seen such great success and growth within our volunteer programme thanks to BF&M and the community. We welcomed the largest volunteer force to the event in 2022 and look to continue to grow together this year” said Tournament Director, Danielle Carrera, “We have introduced two new committees for volunteers to join, player transportation and fan activations. Interested parties can learn more about these new opportunities on our website. We encourage volunteers to register with us early and to donate their time on behalf of a charity of their choice to maximize their impact.”

Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of three shifts, which range from four to six hours each, depending on the committee. There is the option for volunteers to have an even greater impact by chosing to donate their time on behalf of a registered charity, which will see the chosen charity receive $200.

Back by popular demand, this year volunteers will enjoy an official tournament polo and tournament jacket courtesy of BF&M as well as a tournament hat, volunteer credentials providing access to the event at all times, BF&M accessories, lunch on volunteer days, and more.

Interested volunteers can apply now and charities can email Diaje to learn more about getting involved. For more information on the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, visit www.butterfieldbdachampionship.com/bfm-volunteer
