Cops in West Bay are asking for the help of the community as they try to locate Rambo the Rottweiler puppy. Rambo was stolen during a break-in at the local fire station last weekend.

Rambo, who is 5 months old, was stolen from his cage within the West Bay fire station on Saturday, 25 January. The burglary is believed to have happened between 10am and 1.15pm, when Rambo’s owner was away from the station.

The puppy is described as being black and brown in colour. He has a short tail and black markings running through the brown down to his paws. He has some very curly hair on his back, close to his tail. He was wearing a black nylon collar at the time of the theft. His owners say that he is very friendly and they are Rottweiler puppy genericextremely distressed by the theft. They are keen to get Rambo back as quickly as possible.

Detective Constable Emma Twydell is appealing for anyone who was in the area of the fire station last Saturday, and saw anything suspicious, to come forward. She is also keen to hear about anyone who has recently acquired a Rottweiler puppy, or from anyone who has been offered a puppy for sale. Information can be passed to DC Twydell at West Bay CID on 3241970 or by email [email protected].

Note

Unfortunately the only image we have of Rambo is one of him at four weeks old (see attached). He has obviously grown quite considerably since then and, as such, he now closely resembles the dog in the second image,  in terms of size and build.  The second image is a generic one provided to enable your readers/ viewers to have a more realistic idea of how Rambo looks today, however if the owner is able to provide a more current image we will, of course, send it to you as soon as we receive it.

  1. Interestingly, Rottweilers are on the ‘banned dog’ list. – Animals (Prohibited Dogs) Regulations (2004 Revision) – So when the police catch the thieves they need to arrest them for having a banned dog as well as theft. And of course prosecute the firemen as well. – We’ll see.
