Police Service Commission announces new Chief Superintendent for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service

The Police Service Commission (PSC) announces the promotion and appointment of Superintendent Brad Ebanks to the rank of Chief Superintendent, for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS).
“I am pleased to see the success of this recruitment drive for this critical role in the RCIPS. I am particularly pleased that we were able to promote a highly capable Caymanian from within the ranks of the RCIPS. I offer sincere congratulations to Chief Superintendent Ebanks on his well-deserved promotion, says Hon Acting Governor, Franz Manderson, who is Acting Chairman of the PSC.
The PSC is an independent body, established in 2021 with the specific responsibilities for the senior appointments and promotions within the RCIPS (Superintendent rank and higher ranks), and the good governance of the RCIPS.
Commissioner of Police, Derek Byrne, voiced his support for the work of the PSC for this recruitment: “I warmly congratulate Chief Superintendent Brad Ebanks on his selection and appointment and extend great thanks to the PSC for their oversight of the competition in the interview and selection process.
Chief Superintendent Ebanks is a local officer who has come through the ranks and served the RCIPS for the past 36 years where he has gained a full appreciation and understanding of the complexities and challenges of the multiple competing service demands faced by the RCIPS as it continues its journey to develop and deliver a modern, progressive, fit for purpose 21st century policing service to the Cayman Islands.
Chief Superintendent Ebanks is a committed professional and a safe pair of hands and is also an integral part of the senior leadership team taking the RCIPS service forward. I wish Chief Superintendent Ebanks great success as he takes on this new leadership role”.
