Police officers were involved in the search of an individual that ran from police after they attempted to arrest him.

Police say officers spotted an individual who is on a watch list for persons being involved with firearms driving a vehicle near the Ritz-Carlton.

The area around the Island Heritage roundabout on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway was closed while officers search for the individual.

A RCIPS spokesman said: “As soon as officers pulled the individual over, the man ran into the bushes and disappeared.”

Police ended the search but no arrests were made.
