Ogier boosts private client capability in the Caribbean with appointment of Fraser Allister

OGI3644_Ogier Logo_CMYK_BLACKOgier has boosted its private client capability in the Caribbean with the appointment of Fraser Allister to the team that was recently crowned Caribbean Law Firm of the Year by Citywealth.

Fraser works alongside partner David Cooney on all areas of private client and trust work with a particular focus on the establishment and operation of trust structures and the relocation of individuals and business to the Cayman Islands.

Fraser has significant expertise in the intergenerational transfer of wealth, with particular emphasis on succession planning for family owned businesses.

fraser-allister-hiresHis strong background in both trust and tax matters means he is well placed to understand the technical issues involved in those transfers and his considerable experience of working with business owners allows him to understand and manage the wider issues and concerns that usually accompany these ‘once-in-a-generation’ transfers.

David Cooney said: “Fraser’s arrival at Ogier provides a significant boost to both our technical expertise and our capacity. We have enjoyed three successive years of strong growth within the team and to welcome another trust specialist allows that growth to continue. Fraser is a great fit for the team and will help us to continue to provide commercially focussed, practical advice.”

Before joining Ogier in 2016 Fraser worked for HBJ Gateley in Edinburgh where he was an associate in the Private Client and Trust team specialising in inheritance tax and succession planning.

Fraser received his law degree from the University of Edinburgh and his Diploma in Legal Practice from Glasgow Graduate School of Law. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Association of Tax Technicians, and is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
