The week of Monday, 15 April 2013, GIS Spotlight inducts you into a new education course, takes a strategic direction in sports and stops once more at a green initiative.

It is widely acknowledged that nursing ranks among the noblest professions since it takes a rare kind of individual to provide such a high level of consistent care. Now the Cayman Islands has joined the list of countries that provide nursing education to a degree level.

Join us at the launch of the bachelor’s degree in nursing, offered by the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI). Hear all about the professional opportunity that awaits at least 10 local students, when the course commences. It will provide both theoretical and practical training at local facilities including the Cayman Islands Hospital. Discover the criteria required to enter this new programme.

From there, we learn about a new strategic initiative aimed at improving overall sports delivery in the Cayman Islands. Take part in the Ministry of Sports’ strategic policy formation meeting, which involved local sports stakeholders. Hear from key persons about the collaborative effort to ensure that this long-standing goal for sports is reached.
