Nesbeth Excites The Cayman Islands

By Caribbbean Entertainment Magazine

The normally quiet district of Bodden Town came alive over the weekend as Reggae star Nesbeth invaded the former Cayman Islands capital for a concert on Saturday night.

The event, dubbed the official homecoming for newly appointed government minister, the Honourable Dwayne Seymour who now occupies the culture ministry portfolio was held on Saturday, June 10th on the grounds of Bodden Town Primary School, the former alma mater of the minister.

The festive occasion saw hundreds from across the length and breath of the country pouring into the town to celebrate with the minister and his colleagues. Singer Nesbeth, a favourite of the political class was the headlining act and following a flurry of local talents took the stage at approximately minutes to 10 delivering another of his signature high-energy sets interspersed with inspirational messages.

Aside from Board House, Guns Out and his global hit My Dream other well received offerings included Normal Day, a tribute to his late wife and the newly released Success Story. The latter is produced on the Foota Hype Music imprint.

Speaking with local press the Rastafarian crooner explained,
“Cayman Islands is such a beautiful place, the people are so hospitable. The concert was great and everyone knows wherever in the world I go I’m always happy to spread positive influences regardless of the occasion. However I think one of the things that stood out for me was how responsive the people were to ‘Success Story’ a song they have never heard before but I guess that’s the power of good music. Lastly, I want to say a special thank you to the honourable Dwayne Seymour and the people of the Cayman Islands for inviting me to be a part of this momentous occasion. ”

Locally, Nesbeth is working on the official video for New Gangster and is set to headline the 2017 instalment of Caribbean Village Cultural Festival on June 25 in Lauderhill, Fort Lauderdale before jetting off to Atlanta on June 30th.
