Mushroom expands broadband Bonding Solutions

MCS partner with Mushroom Networks to provide cost-effective, reliable telecom networking solutions to clients in the Caribbean.

SAN DIEGO — Mushroom Networks, Inc., innovators of Broadband Bonding technology, today announced a partnership with MCS, an information technology consulting and professional services company. With more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, MCS now offers Mushroom Networks’ patented solutions to its clients in the Caribbean.

MCS has a proven track record in delivering end-to-end IT solutions and services to leading offshore financial services institutions. Based in the Cayman Islands, MCS works in multiple offshore jurisdictions including Bahamas, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Barbados, and the Channel Islands.

As part of the new partnership, MCS offers Mushroom Network’s Truffle product to its customers. Truffle provides a fast and reliable Internet access for organizations, bonding together up to 12 Internet connections into a single broadband pipe. It accepts any combination of connection technologies, including T1, fiber, DSL, cable, or 3G/4G wireless, and intelligently combines them for optimal speed and improved reliability due to the redundancies of multiple connections.

mushroom-networks-06-30-09Until now, very fast and reliable bandwidth at a reasonable cost has not been a viable option for many businesses in the Cayman Islands, according to MCS CEO Chris Lopez. “Our clients now can avoid slow and sporadic broadband, and instead rely on fast service with high uptime, with an extremely attractive price tag,” Lopez said.

Mushroom’s Truffle Broadband Bonding provides MCS’s clients with fiber-like speeds and “5 9’s reliability” at a fraction of the cost of other services, such as MPLS or fiber. And because financial institutions can blend connections from multiple carriers, Lopez noted, redundancy is built-in, in case of possible outages.

“Having fast Internet is extremely important to institutions that conduct financial services in the Cayman Islands, and other offshore financial services jurisdictions,” Lopez said. “In fact, slow Internet connections can affect critical Line-of-Business applications, potentially costing companies millions. We are excited about the new partnership with Mushroom Networks and as a value-added partner, we can now offer our clients Broadband Bonding as a progressive technology for high bandwidth at an inexpensive price.”

Cahit Akin, co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks, said: “As a value-added partner of Mushroom networks products, MCS offers Broadband Bonding technology to its clients, offering financial customers extremely fast and near 100-percent reliability by bonding several inexpensive broadband access lines together into one, single high-speed link.”
