Mourant Ozannes 6th annual Cayman Islands Regulatory seminar

Mourant Ozannes partner and seminar chair Hector Robinson with Paul Bowen QC of Brick Court and Simon Dickson, Mourant Ozannes PartnerLeading offshore law firm, Mourant Ozannes held its 6th annual Cayman Islands Regulatory seminar on Thursday 25 February 2016 at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort, West Bay Road.

The Regulatory seminar, a must-attend event in local calendars, was held in collaboration with Brick Court Chambers, London, and global law firm Reed Smith. Hector Robinson, Mourant Ozannes litigation partner and seminar chair, was delighted to welcome speakers Paul Bowen QC of Brick Court Chambers and James L Sanders, Partner at Reed Smith, Los Angeles. The international speakers were joined by Mourant Ozannes counsel Mark Griffiths, who recently joined the growing Cayman litigation team from Proskauer Rose LLP in London.

The seminar attracted more than 125 delegates who enjoyed an enlightening presentation by Paul Bowen QC on the impact of the Cayman Islands Bill of Rights regulations affecting the financial services industry. The other two speakers assessed the UK Senior Managers Regime (Mark Griffiths) and the SEC/Department of Justice’s policy on individual responsibility for corporate wrongdoing (James L Sanders). A cocktail and networking session followed the seminar.

On Wednesday 24 February 2016, Mourant Ozannes also hosted a more intimate Judicial Review presentation by Paul Bowen QC for Government and public authorities. Attendees included Attorney General Hon. Samuel W Bulgin QC, Mr Langston Sibblies QC, Deputy Managing Director of CIMA along with his colleague Lisa Donalds, Senior Policy and Development Officer and Mr Ward Sykes of Dart Enterprises.
