A Montgomery County attorney has been temporarily suspended by the Disciplinary Board after being criminally charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.
George Bock Ditter’s suspension, effective March 13, comes after a three-count complaint was filed against him Nov. 3, 2015. He is charged with two counts of intentionally viewing and possessing child pornography and one count of using a computer to facilitate its viewing.
According to the criminal complaint, Ditter, 65, was an employee in the Montgomery County firm of Hladik, Onorato and Pearlstine. Firm partner Stephen Hladik contacted police in Upper Gwynedd Township after seeing two printed images waiting in a copier machine that contained pictures of naked men he believed to be children, the complaint said. The next day, Hladik asked Ditter about the images and Ditter said he was doing research for a “sexually graphic novel” that he was writing. Ditter told Hladik to “‘keep this between us,'” according to the complaint.
Shortly after Hladik found the printed images, he contracted with a company to remove a computer virus that had been detected on firm servers. In its efforts, the company, Delval Technology Solutions, uncovered two “‘questionable'” images placed on the firm’s shared drive by Ditter, the complaint said. A further review of Ditter’s Internet history found numerous searches for pornography-related terms, and a review of Ditter’s cache folder found “several child-related pornographic images,” the complaint said.
A search warrant executed at the firm’s offices found “numerous images” of child pornography on Ditter’s computer, and a forensic search uncovered 330 such images.
Ditter has no prior disciplinary history, according to the Disciplinary Board’s website. He made a $100,000 unsecured bail posting the day his criminal charges were filed and is awaiting trial.
Ditter’s attorney, Stephen Geday of Fairlie & Lippy, did not return a call for comment.
Hladik did not return a call for comment.
