Mid-day road accident: Esterley Tibbetts Highway

At approximately 1159hrs Sat (14), a single motor vehicle accident occurred along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway approximately 100meters north of the Yatch Club round-about. The accident occurred when the Silver Toyota Altezza driven by a 29yr old male was travelling south towards George Town when the driver lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road and crashed causing major damages to the vehicle. The driver who was pinned inside the vehicle was cut free by Fire Fighters. He was taken to the Cayman Island Hospital where he is admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.

The extent of injuries undetermined at this time.

Accident scene is being attended to by Scene of Crime and RCIP accident investigators.

Morning vehicular crash on Shamrock Road

A 4-door blue Honda Civic was involved in accident that occurred around 8:00 a.m. Sat (14 ) on Shamrock Road near the Caribbean Reef condominiums.

CITN/Cayman27 are reporting the Honda clipped a truck, lost control and spun into a stone wall  after clipping a truck. Both the truck suffered some damage but the occupants of the truck were uninjured. The TV report said the driver of the Honda left the scene before emergency crews arrived.
