Male Juvenile (16) Arrested on Suspicion of Assault GBH Yesterday, 20 December

Yesterday, 20 December, a male juvenile (16) from West Bay was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm on Monday, 12 December during an incident at Duxie’s Lane in West Bay.  During that incident a young man was hit with a piece of wood during a small gathering in the back yard of a residence.  The victim and accused are known to each other.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident and the victim received treatment at Cayman Islands hospital, however, he has lost vision in his right eye.

The accused is currently in Police custody.

UPDATE:It is our (RCIPS) understanding from medical reports that the victim has permanently lost the vision in his right eye.
