The Leo Club of Grand Cayman, the youth arm of the Lions Club of Grand Cayman, is on the lookout for young teens (15-17 years old) – female – to take part in their 2013 Miss Teen Cayman competition.

The pageant, which takes place on Saturday, 31 August, at the Lions Centre, has an application deadline for contestants of May 17^th plus a sponsorship deadline of June 14^th.

The Miss Teen Committee and the Leo Club of Grand Cayman have set out the following requirements that are needed to enter the miss teen pageant:

Contestants must provide

a)    a recent academic report

b)   three letters of reference

c)    a written essay with minimum of 500 words and command of oral and written communication skills

d)   a completed application form signed by a parent or guardian

e)    a fee of $50, which is non-refundable

f)     a recent passport photo

g)    police certificate

h)   proof of Cayman citizenship

i)     proof of age 15 to 17 years

j)     she is not a reigning title holder

Each contestant must perform 10 hours of community service and also seek their own sponsorship of $2,750. Additional expenses are the sole responsibility of contestant, parents or guardian.

On the night of the Pageant the contestants must perform a talent, make an appearance in swimwear, casual and formal wear.

Entrants, parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the orientation where contestants will receive a calendar and a handbook on what to expect from now through the night of the pageant.
