Cayman: Local artwork in CIS-NGCI pedestrian underpass

Cayman International School students created artwork that inspired Dart’s Visual Designer Keri Lawrence to produce a stunning mural (see image attached) for the pedestrian underpass connecting the school to the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (underneath the Esterley Tibbetts Highway).

Cayman-based artist Carlos Garcia and the students painted sections of the mural, which offers an interactive and inspired environment for pedestrians to take in as they walk between the school campus and the art gallery.

The underpass design celebrates all things Caymanian, incorporating images of the national bird the Cayman Parrot, sea grape trees, traditional Caymanian houses and other island flora and fauna.

On Wednesday April 6 there will be a meet and greet with the artists and key players involved in making these murals a reality.
