Let’s Stay Together 2014

img_2747Elmslie Memorial United Church embarks on its fourth Marriage Enrichment Series: Let’s Stay Together. The series will run from February 17 through to April 7 2014. It involves 8 Monday nights of straight talk about marriage from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening. Let’s Stay Together is for couples who want to build strong and lasting relationships. There will be a Media launch and Appreciation Ceremony on Monday January 13, 2014 at the Church Hall to kick start the promotions of the series this year. The major sponsors: Margarittaville, Jeffery DaCosta and Radio Cayman will be awarded for their continued support of the series.

Elmslie along with other churches have been organising the series on a yearly basis since 2011 starting the week of Valentine’s each year. Let’s Stay Together is held at Margaritaville Restaurant. Margaritaville provides a neutral venue that widens the appeal to include church and non-church people so that everybody can benefit from programme. The programme for the series uses material from the Alpha Marriage Course produced by Holy Trinity Brompton in the UK and is based on Christian principles of marriage. The programme is full of practical advice for all marriages and many couples who are not church goers have enjoyed and benefited from the course. Some of the topics covered by the course include: Building Strong Foundations, The Art of Communication, Resolving Conflict, The Power of Forgiveness, The Impact of Family – Past and Present, Good Sex, and Love in Action.

Elmslie Memorial United Church through the Alpha Marriage Course is responding to a concern in the community for the health of marriages. This program will provide a helpful outlet for couples to enrich their relationship, to strengthen a very strong marriage or help one that is having challenges.
