Jeffers found guilty of manslaughter in shooting death – gets 20 years

Raziel Omar Jeffers (31) was found guilty of  manslaughter in the shooting death of Marcos Duran in March 2010. The jury was unanimous in their verdict on Thursday (14) but found Jeffers not guilty of the more serious charge of murder.

Jeffers is already serving two life sentences for the murder of Marcus Ebanks in 2009 and Damion Ming in 2010. Now on Friday (15) he received another 20 years imprisonment from Chief Justice Anthony Smellie.

In his trial for killing Marcus Ebanks he was also convicted of trying to kill four others including Adryan Powell. Powell is now paralysed from multiple gunshots he received on the evening of the shooting by Jeffers and another gunman as they were sitting in a yard in West Bay.
