This weekend, The Equestrian Center on Linford Pierson Highway will host an invitational show jumping competition with riders from Jamaica and the USA competing against local riders.

Local riders will share a horse with a visiting rider for the weekend. Class heights will run through .60m .70m .80 and .90m. Competing riders will range in age from 10 years old to 18.

“One of the main intents behind this competition is to foster international friendship,” said coach and event organizer Mary Alberga. “The previous CEA show jumping circuit that we participated in for many years where riders traveled to different countries is no longer running and we knew that the kids would be missing out on the opportunity to travel, make friends and ride different horses, so we decided extend invitations to our neighbouring countries and our partner barn in the USA, to bring riders to compete against our local riders.”
