A Feline Friday Appeal – Can you help find Lulu a home

From  CARE – Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiast

A courtesy appeal to help the lovely Lulu find her forever home.

Poor Lulu has found herself seeking a new home after her owners left island with the intentions of placing Lulu with family in Australia. However, due to travel requirements imposed on animals traveling to Australia Lulu had to wait in Cayman until mid March so she could travel. Devastatingly the lady who was taking care of Lulu, here in cayman while she got cleared to travel has just been informed by her owners in Hong Kong that there is no longer a home available for Lulu where she was suppose to go in Australia. Therefore this wonderful lady must now try and find Lulu her forever home here in Cayman and we need your help to do this.

unnamed

Lulu is 6 years old, fully vaccinated, microchipped, rabies shots and has a clean bill of health. She was adopted from the Humane Society as a kitten and has spent the past 6 years living without other cats so we are really not sure how she will adapt to living with another cat – although right now she is living with a dog and is tolerating her quite well.

Lulu can be quite entertaining as she tries to chase a fly, or watch birds from the window. She does not like to be picked up and cuddled….but yet…..when she wants to…..she will come and purr.

Lulu will go into her hiding spot during the day and comes out around 4 or 5pm to get fed…..she eats and will then either lay on the floor and stretch out…..or will get up onto the back of the couch to look out the window.

Maybe not the best pet for a family with very young kids who may pull her tail….she will let them know by giving a swipe that she does not like that. I lay on the floor with my dog and Lulu likes to join us!

unnamed

She is very good about using her litter tray which will come with her if we can find her a home, along with a supply of food and her water and food dishes and a travel cage. She has a little scratch table that she sits on and often sleeps on which will also go,with her. She loves to roll around with a catnip toy…..and will even roll around in dust and dirt as I try to sweep, which normally turns into a game!

If you would like to meet this wonderful girl and have a space in your home and heart to give Lulu a forever home please contact:

Rhonda on 928 8023 or e-mail [email protected]

Please be a voice for the voiceless and spread the word for sweet Lulu.

Grand Cayman: Roadworks commence Thu (4) Red Bay area

Drivers and pedestrians may have noticed that some road work projects are underway, and the National Roads Authority (NRA) advises that these will continue for some time.

Along the east-west arterial road in the Red Bay area, workers have begun preliminary work for the eventual installation of concrete barriers in the centre median. This stretch of road is between the Red Bay roundabout and the Dr. Tomlinson roundabout.

That project starts in earnest tomorrow (Thursday 4 February, 2016), beginning with work on the east-bound lane. While work will take place from 7.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. weekdays (and possibly on weekends), little disruption of the traffic flow is expected. The project is expected to continue through 19 February.
Staff have already coned off the inside lane (the safety work-zone area) from traffic, with relevant roadway signs. Motorists are asked to use that road with caution, as the road enhancements proceed.

Following this project, there will be works to enhance Bobby Thompson Way.
Also underway is initial work to prepare for the conversion of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway into four-lanes.
